The 1st Workshop of the STEROID project – Verification and Validation of ADAS Components for Intelligent Vehicles of the Future – took place on November 3rd at the MobilityLab of Capgemini Engineering in Gaia.

The initiative, organized by the project leader VORTEX-CoLab, had the participation of the partners GLOBALVIA and Instituto de Telecomunicações Aveiro and aimed at knowledge sharing and presenting the technological blocks already developed within the scope of the project, as well as discussion sessions for the integration of technological blocks in a centralized STEROID platform.

The STEROID project intends to provide an integrated platform for the prototyping, verification and validation of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving functionalities at international and national levels through the co-simulation of autonomous driving scenarios and traffic infrastructure; continuous integration of new autonomous driving functionalities in simulation devices and communication in real Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) and finally, the expansion of the highly connected Portuguese mobility ecosystem with intelligent communication infrastructures (V2X).
