Vortex-CoLab has recently become a Community Member of RISC-V International, a non-profit corporation that is driving the adoption and the implementation of free and open RISC-V instruction set architecture (ISA). This community includes over 300 institutional, academic and individual members from around the world.

The RISC-V ISA delivers a new level of free and extensible software and hardware regarding architecture, paving the way for the next 50 years of computing design and innovation. As a community member, Vortex is eligible to participate in workgroups, influence strategy, and accelerate developments. In this sense, Vortex will deploy a RISC-V embedded hypervisor that will enable isolation (safety) and privilege-based execution (security) on future mixed-criticality systems.
